Ukulele workshop at Deyi Secondary School on 24th Oct 2014, Friday

Intune Music Instructor Mr Travis & Ms. Jax were present at Deyi Secondary School on 24th Oct 2014, Friday, to conduct a 2.5h workshop for the students as part of their post exam activities.

Ukulele Team Building Workshop @ Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 8 Oct 2014, for School of Infocomm Technology!

Intune Music instructors were honoured to have been given the opportunity to conduct a Ukulele Team Building Workshop @ Ngee Ann Polytechnic on 8 Oct 2014, for the School of Infocomm Technology, for a total of 90 people!

Our lead instructor Travis, a tall and handsome ukulele player, led a team of 3 other assistant instructors, namely Jax, Zhihui and Evan Liao. The 4 of them, together with Intune Music school director Aaron Lim, helped to make sure that all 90 of the participants present were equipped with the basic ukulele playing skills while enjoying themselves in the process!

The participants gradually warmed up to the Ukulele and its simple playing techniques, and soon enough, they were already teaching themselves how to play the chords that were being taught! This was part and parcel of the team building programme that Intune Music designed for Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Infocomm Technology, to foster more interaction between the staff members, and also allow them to have some basic mastery of the ukulele too!

There was even a mini competition at the end of the workshop, and the winning group walked away with candies and lollipops from our good friends, LollyTalk!

Our instructors certainly enjoyed themselves while teaching this workshop, and we are certain that the participants from Ngee Ann Polytechnic also had a great time! Many of them even purchased ukuleles from us, so they could continue their learning at home in their free time. :)

We look forward to the next workshop for Ngee Ann Polytechnic, and also for other companies and organisations who might be interested!

PA Ukulele Workshops at various CCs

Intune Music instructor Mr. Evan Liao and Mr. Darren Lee were present at various CCs (Bishan CC, Jurong Green CC, Pek Kio CC) to conduct Ukulele Workshops. This workshop is to equip the participants with basic ukulele playing skills, as well as simple plucking and sing and play techniques, so as to allow them to be able to sing and play for a performance at the Gardens by the Bay. It is indeed an exciting fun-filled event!

Hwa Chong Sabbaticals September 2014

Intune Music instructor Mr. Travis , Mr Sin Sek Jhia and Mr. Peh Kong Wee were present at Hwa Chong Institution to conduct a basic guitar course and professional studio recording course.

During the guitar course, the students were taught how to play simple pop songs as well as some Xinyao songs, to connect them with the music culture of Singapore. By the end of 3 days of lessons, they were able to master many basic chords and progressions, and play more contemporary pop songs.

As for the studio recording course, students were educated in the art of professional studio recording , and they also had lots of hands-on at the Intune Music Recording Room . The students also learnt how to set up their very own home studio, and also how to produce their own song(s) and also do post-production on these songs. At the end of the 3 days course, they were able to a simple song product of their own, incorporating the skills that they had learnt during the course.

Tanjong Katong Sec iPad GaragBand Lessons from July-Sep 2014

Intune Music instructors Guoqiang and Jax conducted iPad Garageband Lessons at Tanjong Katong Secondary School for their Secondary 2 students. 

The lessons taught these students how to do basic music arrangement using the iPad Garageband app, and also allowed them to explore the different musical instruments, for example Drums, Bass, Piano/Keyboards, Strings and many more!

As the new generation of musicians emerges, this digital music training will certainly be useful for these students, to cultivate more tech-savvy musicians in Singapore. :)

Yay to iPad Garageband courses ! 

Mandarin Song and Lyrics Writing Competition @ CHIJ St.Nic Girls` School on 1st Aug 2014

Intune Music director, Mr. Peng Chi Sheng and instructor, Mr. Derrick Tham as well as Mr. Seow Yong Li were present at CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls` School on 1st Aug 2014, Friday for the finals of the Mandarin Song and Lyrics Writing Competition. This workshop runs from May to July , total of 5 workshops teaching students from all levels the necessary knowledge of melody and lyrics writing.

This workshop aims to enhance the learning of the Chinese language through listening of songs, introduce and expose them to local compositions, equip students with basic song writing skills and singing techniques as well as to promote awareness of the importance of copyright issues.

This is also the first time that Saint Nicholas Girls` School is organizing a mandarin song and lyrics writing competition. The winning group gets to record their song and have them arranged at Intune`s very own recording studio by our in house arrangers. The final song will then be filmed as an MV by Photo Team Production.

United Youth Day @ Tiong Bahru Park on 6th July 2014, Sunday

Intune Music Performer, Mr Jayden Chia, together with Intune Music Students, Ms. Sanika and Mr. Terry Tan were present at Tiong Bahru Park on Sunday, 6th July 2014 to put up performance for the United Yourth Day organised by "Beyond Social Services" to celebrate and recognise youth talents!
