Tanjong Katong Sec iPad GaragBand Lessons from July-Sep 2014

Intune Music instructors Guoqiang and Jax conducted iPad Garageband Lessons at Tanjong Katong Secondary School for their Secondary 2 students. 

The lessons taught these students how to do basic music arrangement using the iPad Garageband app, and also allowed them to explore the different musical instruments, for example Drums, Bass, Piano/Keyboards, Strings and many more!

As the new generation of musicians emerges, this digital music training will certainly be useful for these students, to cultivate more tech-savvy musicians in Singapore. :)

Mandarin Song and Lyrics Writing Competition @ CHIJ St.Nic Girls` School on 1st Aug 2014

Intune Music director, Mr. Peng Chi Sheng and instructor, Mr. Derrick Tham as well as Mr. Seow Yong Li were present at CHIJ Saint Nicholas Girls` School on 1st Aug 2014, Friday for the finals of the Mandarin Song and Lyrics Writing Competition. This workshop runs from May to July , total of 5 workshops teaching students from all levels the necessary knowledge of melody and lyrics writing.

This workshop aims to enhance the learning of the Chinese language through listening of songs, introduce and expose them to local compositions, equip students with basic song writing skills and singing techniques as well as to promote awareness of the importance of copyright issues.

This is also the first time that Saint Nicholas Girls` School is organizing a mandarin song and lyrics writing competition. The winning group gets to record their song and have them arranged at Intune`s very own recording studio by our in house arrangers. The final song will then be filmed as an MV by Photo Team Production.

United Youth Day @ Tiong Bahru Park on 6th July 2014, Sunday

Intune Music Performer, Mr Jayden Chia, together with Intune Music Students, Ms. Sanika and Mr. Terry Tan were present at Tiong Bahru Park on Sunday, 6th July 2014 to put up performance for the United Yourth Day organised by "Beyond Social Services" to celebrate and recognise youth talents!

iPad Garageband lessons @ Mayflower Primary

Intune Music instructors Mr. Aaron Lim, Mr. Travis, Mr. Fu Guo Qiang and Miss. Joann just completed the iPad Garageband lessons at Mayflower Primary School for their Primary 4 pupils.

Students were taught how to use the various instruments on the iPad Garageband, and they even composed their very own original song by the end of the course!

Garageband Songwriting Workshop @ Greendale Primary on 2nd July 2014

Intune Music instructors Mr Peh Kong Wee, Mr. Fu Guo Qiang and Mr. Junior Tan were present at Greendale Primary School on 2nd July 2014, Wednesday, to conduct a Songwriting workshop using the iPad app - Garageband. These Students were specially selected. Intune Music Director, Mr. Aaron Lim was also present to supervise the course.

Digital Vocal Recording Workshop at Jurong Regional Library

Intune Music instructors Mr Peh Kong Wee and Miss Huang Shi Yu were at Jurong Regional library on 29th June 2014, Sunday 10am - 6pm, to conduct a 4 sessions Digital Vocal Recording Workshop. Participants learnt about the basics of vocal recording, the different types of microphones, editing, mixing  as well as how they can set up their own home studio.

Xinyao Workshops @ Chinatown Library

Intune Music instructors were at Chinatown Library on 17th May 2014, Saturday 2pm-3pm, as well as 25 May 2014, Sunday 2pm-3pm, to conduct a Xinyao workshop. They shared about the progression of Singaporean music and how it is evolving till the current day. 


These workshops were part of a 3-part series featuring local music and Xinyao compositions. Directors Mr Peng Chi Sheng and Mr Aaron Lim were part of the group of performers, which included local songwriter Derrick Tham as well as guest singer Bevlyn Khoo.
