Intune Music instructors, Ting Hui, Terry Tan, Tay Sia Yeun, Teo Zuo En and Derrick Tham went over to Bo Wen Secondary School to conduct a Xinyao (新谣) Appreciation Workshop, a National Arts Council (NAC) - AEP Programme !
The presentation was done in a fun and interesting manner,
with drama and play acting as well as song performances throughout the session with 3-4 characters depicting a simple storyline that weaves in the
Xinyao songs to tell a story, so to educate and share with the youth of Singapore that Xinyao is an unique and an important part of Singapore’s mandarin music history.
This workshop also have a performance of various popular Xinyao songs, as well
as re-interpretations of some classic Xinyao tunes.
We hope that through this workshop, the youths have the deeper understanding of Singapore’s history, friendship, school life, family, philosophy, environment, patriotism through the songs and we hope that we have inspired some of youth today to be another Dr.Liang Wern Fook.
